Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

The RLPO gives over sixty concerts from September to June in Philharmonic Hall, as well as presenting concerts locally and throughout the United Kingdom. The Orchestra has toured to the Far East, the USA and throughout Europe, and has enjoyed a special relationship with Prague in recent years; the Orchestra toured Spain in March 2006.

Members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic are involved in a number of innovative community education and outreach projects, including the RLPO’s series of Family Concerts. The Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, whose most famous ‘old boy’ is Sir Simon Rattle, also enjoys close links with the RLPO.

Clark Rundell

Clark Rundell is Director of Contemporary Music and Head of Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and Artistic Director of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s new music group, Ensemble 10/10.

Deeply committed to the performance of new music, Clark has given world premieres of works by composers such as Louis Andriessen, Elizabeth Barratt, Django Bates, David Bedford, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Derek Bermel, Judith Bingham, Gerard Brophy, Alan Bush, Martin Butler, Gary Carpenter, Ian Gardiner, Tim Garland, Adam Gorb, Sam Hayden, Kenneth Hesketh, David Horne, Julian Joseph, Gyumah Labi, Steve Mackey, Roger Marsh, Stephen Pratt and Mark-Anthony Turnage, in addition to dozens of British premieres.

Burnt Tree

This CD was produced with the grateful assistance of Keith Ashwood and Bill Thomas of the Burnt Tree Group.

David Morris

David Morris is a professional whistling artist. He performs as a soloist with orchestra, concert and brass band and has won the title of World Whistling Champion.

After winning the title of” World Champion Whistler” he released his 2nd album “ World Champion Whistling” backed by the Scottish Coop Band. Both CD’s have enjoyed buoyant sales. Since turning professional, David has made 5 visits to the USA appearing in concerts in Chicago and St Louis, two concerts in New Zealand and a week’s tour in Malta. He has also appeared throughout the UK with many repeat performances. Most recently he has performed with the BBC Concert orchestra on BBC Radio 2” Friday Night is Music Night” and with the RTE concert orchestra in Dublin.
